Welcome to Kovergence. We operate an online marketplace that connects music clients — people looking to hire music talent — with music creatives, including producers, vocalists, sound engineers, DJs, and more, primarily across Nigeria.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By creating an account or using Kovergence, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account details: your name and email address. If you sign up with email and password, your password is securely hashed and never stored in plain text. If you sign up using Continue with Google, we receive only your name and email address from Google — we do not request access to your Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
• Role: whether you register as a Client or a Creative.
• Profile information: profile photo, bio, city/state, services offered, hourly or session rates, portfolio items, and social links — all voluntarily provided.
• Messages: the content of messages you send to other users through our in-app chat.
• Booking details: session descriptions, dates, times, and any notes you include when creating or accepting a booking.
• Beat store content: beat titles, audio files, cover art, and license information uploaded by producers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, beats played, searches performed, and features used — to help us understand and improve the service.
• Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, and general location (country/city) derived from your IP address.

Payment information

Payments on Kovergence are processed by Paystack, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your card number, bank account details, or any other sensitive payment credentials. We only record transaction reference numbers, order amounts, and payment status.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• To display your profile to other users so clients can discover and book you.
• To facilitate bookings, payments, and downloads between clients and creatives.
• To send you transactional emails such as booking confirmations, payment receipts, and download links.
• To send you important service updates or changes to our policies.
• To respond to your support requests or enquiries.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
• To analyse how the platform is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

With other users

When you create a Creative profile, your public profile information (name, photo, bio, services, location, portfolio, and ratings) is visible to logged-in users of the platform. Clients can see your profile when browsing talent. Messages you send are visible only to the recipient.

With service providers

We share data with the following trusted providers who help us run Kovergence:

• Supabase — database hosting, authentication, file storage, and real-time features.
• Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google's OAuth service. We only receive your name and email. Google's use of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Paystack — payment processing for bookings and beat purchases.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We only share the minimum information necessary for them to perform their services.

For legal reasons

We may disclose your information if required to do so by Nigerian law or regulation, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kovergence, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. If you registered with email and password, your password is hashed using industry-standard algorithms and is never stored in plain text — not even our team can read it. If you registered with Google, no password is stored on our end at all.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no internet service is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.

6. Your Rights

• Access and correction: you can view and update most of your personal information at any time through your profile and account settings.
• Account deletion: you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at info@kovergence.com. Note that we may retain certain records required for legal or financial compliance.
• Email preferences: you can opt out of non-essential communications through your account settings. You will still receive transactional emails necessary for the service to function.

7. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in while you use the platform. These cookies are strictly necessary for the service to work and cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any cookies that profile you for marketing purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

Kovergence is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account on our platform, please contact us and we will take prompt action to remove their data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was most recently revised. Continued use of Kovergence after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
